  • Preparedness meets Opportunity

    March 3rd, 2024

2023 proved to be a transformative year for PG, where we created new partnerships by focusing on alignment, confidence and trust. Demonstrating commitment to these values, our Lee location has added new state-of-the-art CNC machinery, storage/racking, office space, training/conference/collab rooms all under one 30,000 sqft roof. Our fleet now incorporates more crew cab set-ups to accommodate the needs of a growing field presence. And our partnering with select manufacturers will streamline product offerings to create optimum levels of efficiency from concept-design to fabrication/installation. Many people see success as a matter of luck, while we simply view it as preparedness meets opportunity.

  • If You Want to Go Far Go Together

    October 21st, 2023

Spent some time this week in Chandler, AZ meeting with our friends from the DeMichele Group. A think tank founded in the 70’s by a nuclear physicist who developed a first of it’s kind algorithm to run on a microprocessor increasing material yields to upwards of 97% all while reducing production times by 800% on average. We had the opportunity to see first hand demonstration of the latest Rhino extrusion and combo equipment set-ups with state-of-the art features such as the recently introduced automatic tool changer and prototype off loader which will be featured at the Glass Build America trade show coming to Atlanta, GA later this month. What better partner to align with then one which is dedicated to coming up with the most creative software and hardware solutions to our industries everyday machining challenges. Just a great example of how working together is the best way to reach new heights.

  • “The Lowest Bidder”

    October 17th, 2023

It’s unwise to pay too much, but it’s worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money – that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because what you bought was incapable of doing the job. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot – it can’t be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run and if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better.

  • Don’t Be Afraid Of “What If”

    October 11th, 2023

The question “What If sealants fail” can create so much fear that it will breed misconception leading to a pursuit of problems which might not even exist. Just consider manufacturer designed/tested facade solutions such as curtain walls, fin walls, canopies, point supported systems depend solely on critical silicone sealant treatments at both glass and metal joinery locations.  If it weren’t for these treatments the system simply wouldn’t perform. Factory fabricators insulate the glass installed into these systems using high performance silicone sealants.  4-sided structurally glazed/unitized wall systems utilize silicone not only as a weather seal, but as a method of attachment for insulated glass. Once we acknowledge the fact that sealants are a crucial (indispensable) component of all exterior glazing systems, we can begin to accept/explore properly installed sealants as a sound solution for dissimilar materials.  Understanding the critical nature, versality and value of proper sealant utilization/installation is key to providing a building envelope which will consistently perform over time. To best ensure proper means/methods are being detailed and redundancy’s aren’t being introduced unnecessarily, include us in your design efforts and tap into those years of hands on experience we can bring to your table.
